MOOD DISORDER

Have you every asked yourself why do I feel so sad, why can’t I get enough sleep, why does it like I have the flu all the time, or is everything happening to me. Feelings of sadness and discouragement are normal emotional reactions to difficult situations. But when these feelings last more than a few weeks, or get so bad that they take control of a person's life, it could be a sign of a mood disorder. According to Williams mood disorders is a disturbance of normal mood. Mood disorders fall into two basic categories: unipolar and bipolar disorder. Unipolar disorder, known as depression, is one of the most common mood disorders and can range from mild to life threatening. It can appear at any age, and one in five women and one in 10 men will experience one of the following forms of depression sometime in their lives. Clinical depression refers to a condition serious enough to require professional treatment.
The following are the most common symptoms of a mood disorder. Similarly, they may not complain of a loss of interest or pleasure. Manics may speak rapidly, have unrealistic ideas, and jump from subject to subject. Other factors, such as negative family relationships, serious illness, major loss or change, and substance abuse, can cause or complicate depression. They may also show poor judgment and recklessness and may be argumentative. Genders and sensitivity to seasonal change can play a role in eating or sleeping habits, loss of energy or loss of interests in things that were once enjoyed are all. However, each individual may experience symptoms differently like headache, stomachache, hypersensitivity to failure or rejection.Irritability, aggression in mood disorder; these feelings appear more intense than what a person may normally feel from time to time.
When people deal with finding a treatment for depression many just think of anti-depressants .l but, due to the negative side effects of anti-depressant pills, depressed people are turning toward other alternative treatments. Cardiovascular problems are one side effect in which people experience change in blood pressure or heart rate. In addition gastrointestinal upset causes nausea, diarrhea, constipation or vomiting. Also, neurological difficulties include confusion, hallucination, numbness and seizures. Significant weight changes are also another side effect. Lastly, sedation, which is where a patient experiences anxiety, sleep disturbance and agitation is another side effect of anti-depressants. Behavioral therapy is highly effective, with or without medication, in treating most types of anxiety disorder, the therapy not only teaches the patient to face and react to the situations which triggers the symptoms of anxiety disorder positively, also, it allow the patient to learn about the anxiety thoughts that cause the symptoms, and helps to change their way of thinking to reduce the likelihood of symptoms occurring. Medications can only help to relief the symptoms of anxiety disorder by restoring the chemical imbalance that lead to the symptoms, but does not treat the cause of it.
All of these side effects and how addictive the anti-depressants are make many depressed people find alternative treatments to depression. Exercise will not only help a person with curing depression but they will become healthier physically.
